Bishop T.L. Holsey

Bishop Thomas L. Holsey, D. Th., Presiding Prelate
Delaware Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ, Inc.

     Bishop T.L. Holsey has been a member of the Church of God in Christ for thirty-five years.  He is married to Sylvia V. Blackshear Holsey and they have three children, Elder Stephan A. Holsey, Mandie and Samantha Holsey.  A daughter-in-law, Nikia, and four beautiful grand-children, Tiara and Stephan, Jr., Tyler and Jayden.

     He was the pastor and founder of the Morning Star Institutional COGIC (1986).  He is currently pastor of Bibleway Temple Institutional COGIC in Dover, DE.   He was the District Supt. of the Headquarters District for nineteen years. 

     He holds the following positions in the National Church: Chairman of the Rules Committee, member of the Executive Committee of the General Assembly, member of the Constitution Committee, member of the National Adjutant Staff, Sergeant of Arms of the General Assembly, member of the Executive Board National Pastor’s and Elders Council, member of the Judiciary Board of the National Council of Pastor’s and Elders Council, member of the Screening Committee, member of the Blue Ribbon Committee for the General Assembly.

     Bishop Holsey was selected by the General Board and unanimously selected by the General Assembly at the April 2009 Call Meeting to be the Presiding Prelate of the Delaware Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ, Inc.

     Bishop Holsey has studied to show himself approved unto God as a workman who rightly divides the word of truth.  His educational accomplishments include:

1978 – Bachelor of Arts in Theology, C.H. Mason Theological Bible College

1998 – Master of Arts in Systematic Theology and Pastoral Counseling,

             Midwest Christian College & Seminary.

2000 – Doctorate in Theology with emphasis in Church Management

             Midwest Christian College & Seminary.

2018 – Chaplain for the City Council, Dover, DE

Bishop Holsey became the Chaplain for the City Council for the City of Dover, DE in 2018.
